In addition to their core subjects, all students in the Grammar School study Art, Music, and Physical Education.
The study of Art and Music develop a child’s sense of beauty, rhythm, and proportion. Jacksonville Classical Academy scholars study the great works of art and music, learning both their historical context as well as their lasting significance. Our scholars also learn the theory, technique, and skills of producing music and art.
Physical Education rounds out a classical curriculum and the classical ideal of mens sana in corpore sano, or “a sound mind in a sound body.” Students learn how to keep their bodies health and fit as well as learning the virtues that make teamwork, friendly play, and healthy competition possible.
