Jacksonville Classical Academy Volunteer Policy and Procedure
Policy
To ensure the safety of our scholars, Jacksonville Classical Academy requires all Volunteers to complete an application and undergo a criminal background screening, free of charge. Volunteers are also required to complete an orientation session PRIOR to volunteering on campus. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Examples of school activities that require approved Volunteers include (but are not limited to):

Chaperone a field trip or a school dance

Help out at a PTC sponsored school event

Assist at an athletic event or Field Day

Support teachers in the classroom

Organize a classroom event in conjunction with a teacher

Assist at AM/PM Carline or in the Cafetorium at lunch

Administrative support in the Main Office
-
Tutoring support
-
Support an after-school Club or Activity
-
Coach a sport
-
Any school-related activity where adults come into contact with scholars
All JXC Volunteer activities will be scheduled through the JXC Volunteer Calendar. All requests for volunteering opportunities must be approved in advance by JXC Administrative staff. No unsanctioned volunteering events will be allowed.
Procedure
To become a Volunteer at Jacksonville Classical Academy:
1. Complete this survey
2. Complete this background check
Once your survey is submitted, and your background check is approved, email volunteer@jaxclassical.org and let us know you are ready to schedule your JXC Volunteer Orientation training. Orientation sessions are available in-person or on Zoom. Once your training is complete, you will gain access to the JXC Volunteer Calendar to schedule your volunteer times.
